Is the Uber, Bolt or Heetch transport document valid in Flanders?

Is the Uber, Bolt or Heetch transport document valid in Flanders? See the clarification and how it differs from a trip overview or payment notice.

According to the written clarification TaxiGer received, transport documents via these platforms are in order. An explicit reservation was made for possible app changes.

For a driver who only drives via Uber, Bolt or Heetch, that is useful to know: the transport document may go via the platform. You do not need to treat its digital nature as a problem.

The precise wording does deserve attention. A transport document is something other than any screen on which a trip or payment appears.

Which document does the clarification concern?

A platform can show different kinds of information: a trip history, an overview of your earnings, a payment notice and the document the customer receives after the trip.

The confirmation concerns the transport document via the platform. It does not mean that every screenshot, bank transaction or trip list automatically serves the same function.

For a question about the transport document, therefore use the document for the customer and trip concerned. An overview of your full weekly turnover is not the same thing.

Which information is relevant?

Flemish regulation sets out which data must appear on a transport document. That includes the operator, the driver, the vehicle, the trip data, the tariff, the total price and complaints information. The full list is in article 35 of the operating decree.

These examples are not a complete checklist. They do help explain why a notice with only a paid amount does not automatically contain the same information as a transport document.

What does the reservation about app changes mean?

The confirmation received is not an unlimited guarantee for every future version of every app. A platform can change its documents or the way they are delivered.

If after an update you see a different document, it is practical to check what changed. Look at the actual transport document and ask the platform for an explanation if you cannot find it.

That keeps you close to the written clarification: transport documents via the platforms are accepted, with attention to possible changes.

A valid transport document does not settle your full administration

Even when the platform correctly handles the transport document, the route sheet remains a separate point of attention. The same applies to sending trip data to Chiron.

Example: your customer receives the transport document after a Bolt trip. That document function is then fulfilled. You must still be able to present your route sheet and ensure the required trip data are transmitted.

Frequently asked questions

Is a screenshot of my earnings enough?

The clarification confirms transport documents via platforms. It does not confirm that an earnings overview or any screenshot is enough as a transport document.

Must I also print the platform document?

A physical printer is not needed when the transport document is correctly created and delivered digitally via the platform.
