No route sheet or transport document in Flanders: which fine do you risk?

No route sheet, transport document or Chiron data in Flanders? See the immediate-collection amounts and estimate your total with the TaxiGer simulator.

If as a taxi driver you cannot generate a route sheet, the fine table mentions an immediate collection of 350 euro. If no transport document can be generated, it is 400 euro. Driving exclusively via Uber, Bolt or Heetch does not create an exemption from these document obligations.

For Chiron, the logic is similar: there is no fixed fine “per forgotten trip”. The amount depends on the offence established by the officer — often because trip data cannot be produced or are incomplete.

These amounts match the written clarification TaxiGer received and annex 10. They are amounts for immediate collection. They are not a general prediction of the final consequences of every case.

The amounts for the route sheet and transport document

Established offenceAmount on immediate collectionReference
The driver cannot generate a copy of the route sheet.350 euroAnnex 10, offence 23
No transport document can be generated.400 euroAnnex 10, offence 24

The table is included in annex 10 to the Flemish operating decree of 9 June 2023. Article 59 refers to these amounts. See the decree and annexes in the Flemish Codex.

Note the precise wording: not being able to generate a transport document is the offence for which 400 euro is mentioned here. That amount must not automatically be applied to every other problem with a ticket or its delivery.

And Chiron: what if a trip is missing or data are unavailable?

Chiron does not provide an automatic fine of X euro “per unsent trip”. What the officer checks is whether you can produce the requested trip data during the inspection.

If a trip was not correctly recorded or transmitted, you may notably face:

Situation around trip data / ChironIndicative amountNote
Trip data impossible to produce or incomplete350 euroCommon when a trip was not correctly recorded
No compliant transport document can be generated400 euroMay be added to data problems
Data exist but are not recorded or stored securely300 euroA finding distinct from “data impossible to produce”

During a full inspection, other offences may be added on the same form — route sheet, transport document, Chiron data, driver card or equipment — and quickly raise the total.

What does immediate collection mean?

With immediate collection the competent officer may propose a payment for the established offence within the applicable legal framework. Article 35 of the decree provides for the offender’s consent in that context. Read article 35 of the decree.

Immediate collection is therefore not the same as a fine imposed after handling by the police court. Use the amounts from the table for the procedure to which they relate.

What if a police report is drawn up?

In the written clarification received it is indicated that for a police report forwarded to the police court no exact amount or fixed outcome can be communicated.

That is why the statement “it always costs at most 350 or 400 euro” is incorrect. The tables above describe specific amounts for immediate collection. They do not set a general maximum for judicial handling.

A police report is also not in itself a court decision. What consequences a concrete case gets depends on further handling.

Does using a platform protect you against this finding?

No. The obligations still apply if you only work via platforms. If the platform, for example, provides a valid transport document, that part may be settled. You must still be able to generate and present your route sheet, and ensure the required trip data go to Chiron.

When preparing for an inspection, a concrete question therefore helps: can I open the requested documents and trip data myself now? That is more useful than only checking which apps are installed on your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Does a forgotten Chiron trip automatically cost 500 euro?

No. There is no fixed fine per forgotten trip. The amount depends on what the officer establishes — for example incomplete data (350 euro) or the impossibility of generating a transport document (400 euro).

Is 400 euro a general fine for every missing ticket?

The 400 euro discussed here specifically belongs to not being able to generate a transport document. Other findings have their own description and assessment.

Does a software subscription prevent every fine?

Software helps organise your administration. You must also use the solution correctly and be able to present the requested documents and data.
